Subject: Excellent service - tire and valve
Hello Derek,
The purpose of this note is to let you know that I really appreciated the fact that you promised to do something, by a certain date and time, and you delivered. A sign of excellent service!
I have dealt with service industries during most of my working career (still do now, only part time) and when all one sells is a “promise to perform” (this is the simple definition of a “service”), performance as promised usually results in many positives.
In this case, the positives are:
- a) this note;
- b) gain of a full time customer (Jack May will have all my service business from now on); and
- c) free word of mouth advertising, the beneficial type that no money can buy.
Oh, the fact that the valve replacement was covered under warranty was a nice additional surprise.
Best regards,
Les Arany
